How it works

Upgrade your restring routine in 3 simple steps.

Remove those old strings.

Get rid of those old dead strings full of pizza grease and god knows what else, give your fretboard, frets, headstock, tuners, and bridge a quick cleaning with some polish. Pay a little extra attention to the nut, make sure the string slots are scrubbed nice and clean before proceeding.

Apply Nut Goop.

Apply Nut Goop on each string slot on your nut. It will flow into each string slot - wipe away any excess. Even on a properly cut nut, we have found this can reduce friction during bends and heavy playing, helping to keep your strings in tune longer.

Apply String Slime & restring.

Apply String Slime with the included sponge on the fretboard, restring, and hit the strings with the sponge as well. Wipe away any excess. This will keep your fretboard moisturized, and will help maintain the integrity of the surface metals on strings, creating a barrier between the natural oils in your hands and other contaminants. Bright tone without the short life of other brands, increased life span without that dead edge, characteristic of most coated strings... it's almost metaphysical.
